he Aviation Centre's Tyabb branch is based in Westernport Airfield on the Mornington Peninsula. It boasts a generous hangar space where your aircraft will be protected from the elements during maintenance, and is also home to our engine overhaul facility and fuel system maintenance facility. Our hangar floor is equipped to provide services such as:

Engine/Airframe 100 hourly/Annual inspections

hatever your aircraft make or model, whether it be fabric covered of full metal construction, fixed wing or rotary, your aircraft will be inspected and serviced personally by experienced technicians who are highly knowledgeable in their field.  Care will be taken to ensure your aircraft is not only safe when it leaves our hangar, but will remain safe long after services. 

Basic/Complex repairs or modifications

s well as a generous hangar space, our hangar floor area also has a large sheet metal bench, which utilises high quality tooling to ensure any repairs, big or small, are of the highest quality.

            After manufacture of your repair/modification we have the facilities to ensure your parts are fully protected against the elements by applying Alodine® and a coat of paint in our dedicated paint shop. 

Corrosion Inhibiting Treatment

orrosion is considered the number one enemy of aircraft around the world.  The costs of removing, treating, repainting and sometimes even repair or replacement of parts due to corrosion can quickly become very expensive if not found and rectified in its early stages. But of course the best cure for almost anything is prevention.

To protect your aircraft from corrosion formation as much as possible, contact The Aviation Centre and let us spray the internal structure of your aeroplane with an approved Anti Corrosion Formula (We recommend ACF-50) which can remain active for 24 months.  To view more information on ACF-50 you can visit Corrosion Control

Corrosion Treatment and Removal

• Worm like lines or bubbles starting to form under your paint?  
• White powdery substances developing on external, or worse, internal structure?  

 

Have it professionally removed by our trained staff before it becomes a dangerous and not to mention costly situation. 

We can remove harmful corrosion in situ or on removed components depending on what the situation demands.  After corrosion removal, the surface will be treated to ensure all of the corrosion has been neutralised before being given a protective chemical treatment (Alodine®) and finally painted.

Do not delay removing corrosion, as active corrosion does not go away, it will only get worse leading to greater material loss, greater costs (including possible replacement of damaged parts) and greater danger of parts becoming weak and potentially failing.
